A young girl is very excited for Diwali and all the events that come with it, especially the rangolis competition. Her younger brother ruins all the preparations and events. For the rangolis competition, he spills powder on her design, but she ends up winning anyway because it is unique. She reflects that he is annoying, but recognizes that he is still a young child who is learning and in the end, she is happy he’s around. Ends with a 2-page summary of Diwali, including different reasons for celebrating and explains the cultural elements from the story.
