Author: I am not sure, however, the students are representing their own stories and Rogé is only the artist.
Characters: There are lots of different characters since it is written by different students about their lives and stories, most are Innu and include children, parents, and grandparents. Some stories centre animals.
The resource does not contribute to essentialism, tokenism, or stereotypes because it presents a diversity of stories and perspectives.
The poems range in level of complexity, theme, and topic. They represent some very profound reflections on culture and identity from an Indigenous perspective. It is excellent because it can be used with various grades to explore different grades and most of the texts are simple enough to used even with students who have low French language skills.
